Community Guidelines

Pastime is a place to discover hobbies, join events and connect with others safely and respectfully. These rules apply to profiles, events, messages, posts and media.

Treat people safely and respectfully

  • No harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, hate or discrimination.
  • No sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual content or content involving minors.
  • No illegal activity, dangerous instructions or promotion of violence.
  • No impersonation, scams, spam or misleading event information.
  • Do not share another person's private information without permission.
  • Only upload content you have the right to use.

Events

Organisers must make risks, accessibility needs, costs and venue requirements clear. Members should use their judgement, meet in appropriate places and contact emergency services when anyone is in immediate danger.

Report and block

Use the Report option on the relevant profile, event, post or message when a specific person or item breaks these guidelines. For broader safety concerns, use our public contact details, or sign in and contact Pastime Support for an account-specific thread. You can also block an abusive member from their profile. We review reports within 24 hours, prioritising anything that appears to involve an immediate safety risk. We may remove content, preserve evidence, restrict accounts or contact the appropriate authority.

Before public text is published, Pastime applies a deterministic server-side safety filter to profiles, events, posts, comments, hobby requests and chats. It blocks configured profanity, hateful language, sexual solicitation, threats and common attempts to disguise those terms. The filter is only one safeguard: reports are reviewed by a person, and no user content is sent to an AI moderation provider.
