Organiser payment terms — direct payments
Direct ticket payments, booking fees and Stripe payouts.
When these terms apply
Version 2026-09-24 applies to new direct-payment bookings after you explicitly accept this version. Earlier bookings keep their original payment and refund rules. Read the earlier organiser terms. Stripe also requires its connected account agreement; accepting these terms does not accept Stripe’s agreement for you.
Your ticket sales and fees
You sell tickets to attendees through your connected Stripe account and are responsible for delivering the advertised event. Customers pay your ticket price plus Pastime’s booking fee of 7% of the ticket price plus 50p, rounded to the nearest penny. Pastime receives that booking fee. The 50p fixed fee applies to new checkouts from 28 September 2026; existing checkout attempts and bookings keep their recorded fee. For new bookings created after processing-cost coverage was enabled on 25 September 2026, Pastime covers the payment processing cost from its share so you receive your full ticket price on a completed sale. Stripe initially deducts its processing charge; Pastime then credits the actual charge back to your connected account by returning part of its booking fee. This is a separate credit and may appear after the original payment, once Stripe reports the cost. The credit is funded by Pastime and does not create another card payment or an additional card-processing charge for you or the buyer. It does not necessarily create a separate bank payout. Costs vary by payment method, card and account pricing. If a cost cannot be credited automatically, contact support so we can settle the difference.
For example, a £20 ticket costs the customer £21.90 and you receive £20 after the credit. If Stripe charges 53p, Pastime keeps £1.37 of the £1.90 booking fee. The processing cost is illustrative; we use the actual cost for each payment. Earlier bookings retain their original fee arrangements.
Payouts and verification
Stripe manages verification, account risk and bank payouts under your Stripe account’s terms and schedule. Payouts are not tied to the end of your event and may arrive before it. Keep enough funds available for refunds and payment disputes. Pastime does not promise release three days after an event for direct payments.
If you cancel an event
Tell attendees promptly. Each customer receives a full refund of the ticket price and booking fee. The customer refund is funded from your connected account. Pastime retains its booking fee less the processing-cost credit. For new bookings covered by the credit, your combined cancellation cost is the booking fee: for a £21.90 booking with a £1.90 booking fee and 53p processing cost, Pastime retains £1.37 and Stripe retains 53p. The processing credit still applies if you cancel before it arrives. Earlier bookings retain their original cancellation costs. Stripe may require you to fund your account before completing a refund.
This fee-retention rule applies to organiser cancellations. Other eligible full refunds, including a payment that cannot be allocated a ticket, return Pastime’s booking fee (any processing-cost credit already paid counts towards that return). Stripe’s non-refundable processing charges on those refunded sales remain your cost. Existing bookings keep the policy agreed when booked. Applicable consumer rights are unaffected.
Disputes and responsibilities
You remain responsible to Stripe for refunds, disputes, fees and your account obligations. Stripe’s responsibility for eligible unrecoverable negative account balances does not remove those obligations or guarantee that every refund is immediately available. Cooperate with dispute requests and keep accurate event and attendance records. Manage payment details, fees and disputes in your Stripe Dashboard.
